ABOUT US

Hunt Valley Chorale is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community choir based in Hunt Valley, Maryland. We are dedicated to bringing the joy of choral music to our community. Our members come from diverse backgrounds and share a passion for singing. Through our performances, we aim to inspire and uplift our audiences. We welcome everyone who loves to sing, regardless of musical background or training. Join us as we raise our voices together and create beautiful music that resonates with the soul.

At HVC, our mission is to enrich lives through the power of music. We strive to create memorable musical experiences that foster a sense of unity and connection within our community. Through our performances, we aim to spread the joy and emotional depth of choral music, leaving a lasting impact on our audiences.

WHAT WE DO

As a community choir, we come together to rehearse and prepare for our performances throughout the year. Our repertoire includes a wide range of musical genres, from classical to contemporary pieces.

Jordan Hoffmaster

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
/ CONDUCTOR

Jordan Hoffmaster is a choral conductor and music educator with over 20 years of experience leading children’s, youth, and adult choirs.

 

Jordan believes in creating joyful, inclusive, and musically rigorous spaces, with a passion for uplifting diverse voices in choral repertoire. He truly enjoys helping singers find confidence in their own sound.

In addition to conducting the Hunt Valley Chorale, Jordan also conducts several school choirs, the Howard County Public School System Employee Chorus and he also runs a private voice studio.

 

Jordan has also been active in writing the music curriculum for the county's school system, mentoring new music teachers, and serving on Howard County’s music leadership team.

Gregory Lauer

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
/ ACCOMPANIST
 

HVC's founder, Gregory Lauer, is a talented pianist and French hornist, holding a bachelor’s degree in music from Fairmont State University, with the majority of his training in music performance at West Virginia University.


His extensive career in musical theatre includes serving as music director, conductor and pianist for more than 50 local and regional productions throughout the East Coast. Greg has performed in England, France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, and Hawaii as well as at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., and Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.


Greg has also performed with many orchestras, including the Hunt Valley Symphony Orchestra (of which he is the founder and executive director), Lancaster Symphony, FSCA Symphony, Baltimore Philharmonia, WVU Symphony, Chamber Orchestra and Wind Symphony.
